- Rucksack (65l). Should be big enough I hope, will see when properly packed. Really don't want to have to go with a huge 80l monster, I'll take mobility over comfort where I can.

- Very VERY carefully chosen selection of books: Ray Mears survival handbook, SAS Survival Manual, Hasbrouck.Others?
- Sewing/material repair kit: Needles, pins and safety pins, selection of thread, small sewing scissors, buttons. Patches. Self-adhesive nylon patches for coat and bag, strong nylon for sewing them up. Seam sealant for bag etc., glue sticks and lighter for same purpose.
- Writing/communication/info kit: Seal, stationary, envelopes, pens, address book, A4 pads, filofaxes, notebooks, compass and ruler.
- Basic toolkit/repair kit: glue, duct tape, EMT shears, zip ties, bulldog clips, check toolbox for anything else.
- Wash kit (inc. laundry): Razor+blades, soap, cloth, toothbrush+paste, toilet roll, small mirror, washing powder, scrubbing brush, brillo pads, nail clippers, tweezers
- Cooking/mess kit: Vitamins, backup rations, utensils, mug, tin opener, coffee/tea filter, green tea.
