Blessed With An Extraordinary Life

I got rid of everything I owned and I'm going round the world. I got the extraordinary life I was looking for. Now I've got to get busy living it. The journey started here.

Greensand Ridge Walk (31st March 2007)

We walked a segment of the Greensand Ridge Walk from Ampthill Park to just short of Woburn and back. It's about 11 miles round trip, mostly over hilly country and fields so it feels like more.

The Trangia camping stove got its first use when we stopped for lunch, and performed admirably (after an uncertain start when I couldn't seem to get it lit - as it turned out it just put up a pretty-much-invisible flame, which I discovered just in time when I went to add more meths and felt the heat wave over my hand! It boiled water for two cups of green tea in less than 10 minutes, good going since I'd been told that the downside of the Trangia was long cooking times. Of course it would take longer with a larger volume to heat. Overall I'm extremely pleased, and I'll fit it in my kit if I can possibly spare the space.
